Dentistry has long been a part of Dr. Schmitt's life as his father started the practice in 1959. This gave him the opportunity to learn from an early age the joy and satisfaction that comes from working with children.

Dr. Schmitt received his Bachelors degree at UC Berkeley and his D.D.S. at the University of the Pacific dental school in San Francisco. Dr. Schmitt completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Southern California. During his residency he also worked at Miller Children's Hospital where he gained valuable experience in hospital dentistry and caring for special needs patients.

Dr. Schmitt is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The ABPD certifies pediatric dentists based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. Certification as a Diplomate by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills, and experience requisite to the delivery of quality patient care.

Away from the office Dr. Schmitt volunteers as an instructor at UOP where he teaches dental students the unique skills needed to care for children in the dental office. Dr. Schmitt and his wife and family live in Alamo with their dog and cats. They enjoy snow skiing and both playing and attending sporting events. Dr. Schmitt also coaches his son's baseball and soccer teams.

Dr. Saini received his Bachelors degree from UC Irvine and a Masters degree from University of Hawaii, both in Biology. He then attended the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York where he completed a dual degree program and earned a D.D.S. degree and M.P.H. (Masters of Public Health) degree.

Dr. Saini completed a general practice residency at the UCLA affiliated V.A. Medical Center at Sepulveda and a two year hospital based pediatric dentistry residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. He is an active member of the San Francisco Dental Society, the California Society of Pediatric Dentists, and the American Dental Association.

Prior to joining us, Dr. Saini worked as faculty at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He is currently a faculty member at the University of the Pacific (UOP) School of Dentistry where he lectures and remains involved in the pediatric department’s didactic and clinical curriculum.

Dr. Saini grew up in Simi Valley, California where he worked as a fifth grade teacher prior to dental school. He will tell you that it was this fantastic experience that made him realize he was a natural with kids. When he is away from pediatric dentistry he can be found biking the Bay Area’s nature trails, at music concerts, and visiting with his family and friends.
