Rinku Saini D.D.S., M.P.H.
Dr. Saini received his bachelor's degree from University of California at Irvine and a master's degree from University of Hawaii, both in Biology. He then attended the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York where he completed a dual degree program and earned both a D.D.S. (Doctorate of Dental Surgery) degree and M.P.H. (Masters of Public Health) degree.
Dr. Saini completed a general practice residency at the UCLA affiliated V.A. Medical Center at Sepulveda followed by a two year hospital based pediatric dentistry residency at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. He is an active member of the San Francisco Dental Society, the California Society of Pediatric Dentists, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Saini is active in our local chapter of the Contra Costa Dental Society and has served as a board member.
Prior to joining us, Dr. Saini worked as full-time faculty member at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He is currently a faculty member at the University of the Pacific (UOP) School of Dentistry where he lectures and remains involved in the pediatric department’s didactic and clinical curriculum. His lecture topics include Oral Health of Children with Special Needs, Dental Management of Pediatric Patients with Complex Medical Conditions, and Management of Pediatric Dental Trauma. He frequently hold seminars on these topics for dentists and physicians in the Bay Area.
Dr. Saini and his wife Pelin both grew up in Southern California. He will tell you that it was his experience working as a fifth grade teacher that made him realize he was a natural with kids. After college, Dr. Saini and his wife both decided to settle in the Bay Area. When he is away from pediatric dentistry, they can be found biking the Bay Area’s nature trails, at music concerts, and visiting with friends.
